About this Event:

This live interactive online training will present the benefits of using somatic tracking of clients’ resilience to provide moment-to-moment data to better inform your decision making in session. We look at how using the Window of Tolerance/Presence as an active lens can facilitate this, and guide your pacing. When you notice signs of hyper- and hypo-arousal, and use those moments to intervene, it shifts the work into more of a process-oriented approach. This can expose the "non-presenting problems" that can make therapy difficult easier to tease out and work with.

Craig Penner, LMFT, will present some very practical ways to integrate a somatic approach into your practice, offering a more acute perspective into noticing shifts in your clients’ nervous system activations. This can open the door to seeing different manifestations of trauma and overwhelm, including "subtle dissociation" which is commonly missed in therapy.

Integrating this somatic approach with EMDR offers you ways to work with challenging levels of activation with more confidence, as you can be positioned closer to your clients’ processes. Some of the struggle around choosing and using protocols can be cleared up by tracking resilience.

This training will include a Prezi presentation, experiential exercises, time for questions and discussion, and brief demonstrations.

Whether you are a therapist, counselor, or simply interested in personal growth, this event is for you. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn and connect with like-minded individuals from the comfort of your own home.
